ea%20concentrates%20on%20the%20attributes%20of%20the%20individual%20donor%2C%20leaving%20context%20underexplored.%20Concepts%20such%20as%20contribution%20networks%2C%20for%20instance%2C%20are%20not%20rigorously%20tested.%20This%20article%20reexamines%20the%20impact%20of%20conventional%20socio-demographic%20covariates%20on%20campaign%20donation%20behavior%20by%20ethnic%20contributors%20and%20explicitly%20models%20spatial%20effects.%20The%20spatial%20analysis%20reveals%20that%20patterns%20of%20campaign%20donations%20are%20geographically%20clustered%20%28exhibiting%20both%20spatial%20dependence%2C%20implying%20a%20neighborhood%20effect%2C%20and%20spatial%20heterogeneity%2C%20implying%20a%20regional%20effect%29%2C%20and%20that%20this%20clustering%20cannot%20be%20explained%20completely%20by%20socio-economic%20and%20demographic%20variables.%20While%20socio-demographic%20characteristics%20are%20important%20components%20of%20the%20dynamic%20underlying%20campaign%20contributions%2C%20there%20is%20also%20evidence%20consistent%20with%20a%20contagion%20effect%20whereby%20ethnic%20contribution%20networks%20are%20fueling%20funds%20to%20candidate%20coffers.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%222003%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%22%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%22%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22http%3A%5C%2F%5C%2Fdx.doi.org%5C%2F10.1111%5C%2F1540-5907.00026%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%2284VHRESX%22%2C%22TVF7HMID%22%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222017-01-12T20%3A30%3A18Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
